Fair Oaks is a beautiful neighborhood near Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, a renowned Atlanta suburb. Fair Oaks is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Cobb County, Georgia. Local companies, especially in the immediate region, rarely use the name.
The location is called from the many mature oak trees that can be found there. As a result, when the base decided to take down many of the trees to make it easier to land planes, the active community campaigned to save the trees. Because the neighborhood existed long before the base, the Georgia General Assembly sided with the people. As a result, the neighborhood’s largely forested terrain is preserved.
