Marietta Square Farmers Market

Marietta Square Farmers Market is one of the city’s most visible and strategically placed markets. Since its beginning in 1834, certain local companies have participated in the market, making it a family tradition for many. On Saturday mornings, sellers line up their tents end to end in long rows on one of the metro area’s most picturesque town squares, creating a minicity of white and blue canvas. It’s a colossal, frantic, and joyous muddle. A great number of local manufacturers and artisans put up their stalls to offer buyers freshly made things. The Marietta Square Farmers Market is the city’s largest and most well-known farmers market. This farmers market is held in Marietta’s historic square on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon all year (with a two-week hiatus around Christmas and early January) and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m. beginning in April and lasting until late October. On Saturdays, the farmers market attracts approximately 65 vendors who sell a range of fresh, locally grown, seasonal vegetables and garden supplies. The Marietta Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from January through December, rain or shine. A small piece of “old town” south awaits, as well as some fresh air… the neighborhood Marietta Square Farmers Market has delicious lemonade, fresh meats, and much more for sale. Customers may select from a variety of heirloom tomatoes, fruits, and vegetables, many of which are not generally found in grocery stores. This famous outdoor market offers a broad variety of cut flower arrangements, local honey, herbal soaps, salsas, whole-grain bread, fruit pies, jelly, marmalade, and preserves, in addition to everyday food essentials like potatoes, onions, squash, beans, and so on. Bring your dog and go to the farmers market for breakfast. Lotions and potions, stunning seasonal flowers, handcrafted doggy treats, artisan gifts, and gourmet delicacies from local gardens and cooks are all available. Enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack from one of the many eateries on the sidewalk after wandering along many streets lined with vendor booths. Put on a wide-brimmed southern-style hat and bring a basket to bring home the ingredients for various local produce-themed dinners, or just pick up a few healthful, fresh, and tasty items to keep on hand for the week. Customers with a green thumb may also choose from a wide variety of garden plants and culinary herbs to cultivate in their yards and gardens. Vendors at the Marietta Square Farmers Market are dedicated to creating the best quality handcrafted items.
